Ba Vi Tourist portal is a website dedicated to visitors traveling to Ba Vi, a district in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Clients highlighted significant gaps in information, particularly regarding local attractions and events, which hindered travel planning. I redesigned the website, adding pages to feature prominent attractions and local events, enhancing the user experience and providing comprehensive travel information.

The Itinerary page helps large families find and filter tours by type, travel preferences, and vehicle types. Users can click on a tour to see a detailed daily schedule, including times and attractions. Additionally, users can create and customize their own tours on the MyTour page, adding destinations and sharing these with family members who can comment on and rate them.

The Destinations page caters to users looking for information on attractions suitable for families and singles. It features filters for price, vehicle access, and opening hours to simplify planning. Users can view pictures of each destination and save favorites to their MyTour page.

Both user groups expressed interest in Ba Vi news updates. Thus, I created a News Page featuring relevant content such as popular news, cultural updates, must-visit spots, and government documents in Ba Vi.

The Important Information Page would help adventurous solo travelers by offering a guide to must-visit attractions and recommendations for various activities, including food and entertainment.

The Explore page, acting as Ba Vi's mini brochure, helps both Families with Children and the Elderly, as well as Adventurous Solo Travelers, by providing a brief overview of Ba Vi's history, culture, heritage, and sightseeing spots.

All users need accommodations for their Ba Vi vacation, so I created a Hotels Page. Here, users can choose based on location, price range, ratings, distance, amenities, deals, and bed type preferences, catering to families with children and elderly members who often prefer more beds.

Both of our user groups enjoy local restaurants, so I added an Explore Restaurants page where they can choose to explore the local cuisine based on price, area, and occasion.

The Home page allows all users to explore key features of the Ba Vi Portal, including recent news, must-try foods, and must-visit attractions with videos and pictures. Users can also search for hotels and restaurants using the prominent search bar at the top of the page.

Reflection

What I learned

Digital Accessibility: Implementing features like language selection, adjustable font sizes, and high-contrast settings to make the website accessible to a broader audience, including those with disabilities.

Project Management: Coordinating different stages of the project, from initial research and user interviews to the final implementation.

Problem Solving: Addressing the challenge of missing information by identifying user needs and researching content preferences, including famous attractions, tour guides, hotels, restaurants, and historical information.
